MEET DR. CHANDAK

As a mother of three young girls with different personalities, I understand that every child must be treated as an individual. Having my own children allows me to honestly answer the question, “what would you do if it was your child?”

I feel blessed to be able to make a difference in a young child’s life. Watching an apprehensive child grow and gain confidence with each dental visit is the most rewarding part of my job. Seeing a child “turn the corner” is priceless.

MY EXPERIENCE

Originally from Farmington Hills, Michigan, I completed my undergraduate education at Michigan State University. Sticking with the “Big 10,” I attended the University of Iowa for dental school and the University of Minnesota for my residency training in pediatrics. Upon completion in 2004, I got out of the cold and moved to North Carolina and I haven't looked back! In 2007, I achieved Diplomate status as a board-certified pediatric dentist with the ABPD in 2007.

In addition to traditional methods of treatment, I offer in-office nitrous oxide or oral sedation, when there is a need for more; I complete treatment under general anesthesia at Wake Medical Center. I keep up with my sedation credentials by attending the latest sedation courses and keeping my PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification current.

LIFE OUTSIDE THE OFFICE

My three daughters and two dogs keep me busy when I’m not at work. We love to travel, volunteer, garden, do an occasional 5K, and visit family all over the US. My oldest, Aanika, is very outgoing, enjoys spending time with her family and friends, plays tennis, and is a “TikToker” for the National Charity League. Niki is a perfectionist and enjoys baking, art, and basketball. Kareena is a comedian and gymnast and can be seen doing cartwheels wherever she goes.

Lastly, the boys! Our dog Buddy is named after Buddy the Elf from our favorite Christmas movie, and Bentley is the newest addition to our family and is the happiest dog ever!

When I’m not hanging out with my kids, I love to travel and maintain a healthy lifestyle by going to Orange Theory and occasionally doing hot yoga.

I love our community and do my best to take every opportunity to make it a better place for the next generation. I am a patroness with the National Charity League, on the Social Committee for Brier Creek, and have volunteered at various events throughout the Triangle including Miracle League, food and diaper banks, Interfaith Food Shuttle, and healthcare fairs. Outside of being able to “give back,” it's a neat way to see my patients and their parents outside of the office at these organizations."
